National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), St. Tammany
Provides resources, support, education, and advocacy for people with mental illness and their loved ones. Monthly Support Groups for loved ones of individuals coping with a mental illness. Weekly Support Groups for those coping with mental illnesses. 12 week education class for loved ones of individuals coping with mental illnesses. 6 week education class for parents of a child suffering with a mental illness. 10 week education class for individuals living with mental illness. Resource library with current publications. Help individuals navigate the local mental health system.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)
The Crisis Intervention Team, or CIT, is a community initiative designed to improve the outcomes of police interactions with people. Through CIT law enforcement officers are trained on how to better respond to people experiencing a mental health crisis.
